The Challenge.

For years I've been shopping around for a hobby, usually with terrible, yet amusing results. My attempt at a quilt resulted in around 300 uneven squares that were in no way going to form a square or rectangle, or any other shape for that matter. My drawing skills have remained at the same level since fourth grade. I seemed to have added one or two extra knits (or whatever correct lingo word it is) on every line of the scarf I worked my way through. And my recent attempt at making cute cupcakes went horribly wrong, as shown below.

This is what the cupcakes were SUPPOSED to look like. . .
And this was the result. 'Nuff said.

So, anyway, when meandering my way through wrecking every type of craft, I had a recollection about felt. Felt is cheap. I like cheap. So, I decided to give felt a try. And, miracle of miracles! I could do it.

Here was my third attempt at working with felt:

For the first time in my crafting career, I felt dang proud.

So, I invite you to join me on this journey, to see how far this rabbit hole will go. I intend to see if I can actually stick with a hobby for more than a year. To qualify, I will try to make at least one a week (hopefully more). So, that's 52 felt thingies (seriously, what should I call these? Any ideas?) by January 16, 2012.

  Bring it.

  1. I'm joining you! can't wait to see them. How about calling them masterpieces as that's what they are!
