My Liebster Award

Guys, I've been given an award! Well, okay, I've been basically given a chain letter, blog-style, and I'll be murdered or something if I don't pass it on. Well, alright, not really, but it's in that genre. A facebook friend of mine, Rachel (friend of a friend, we ALMOST met in person, but then I got sick and ruined everything, but . . . uh, yeah, anyway, she's way rad) nominated me from her blog, sincerelypeachy, and you know how I can't resist a survey  . . .

So, the dealio is that the Liebster Award is for awesome bloggers with less than 200 followers. I definitely fit in the second category, if not the first. You get the award, and spread it around, like a happy version of lice.

The Rules:
-Each person must post 11 things about themselves.
-Answer the questions that the tagger set for you PLUS create 11 questions for the people you've tagged to answer
-Choose 11 people and link them in your post
-Go to their page and tell them. (no tag backs)

I don't know if I'll be able to tag eleven people (that feels like a lot, which shows how shoddy I am at following other bloggers), but I'll do what I can.

  ELEVEN THINGS ABOUT ME:

1. I can lick my elbow. It's my one party trick. And I probably shouldn't do it then, either, I think it just weirds people out.

2. I hate jumping from heights. I'm not one of those bungee-jumping, skydiving, cliff jumping types of people that are all the rage these days. I'm the stay at home and re-read one of my favorite books for the dozenth time people.

3. I JUST REALIZED SOMETHING; my mother told me about this article about how the one thing that all hipsters have in common is disdain for pretty much everything, especially anything anyone else has ever heard of. Doesn't that mean that hipsters are going to die out soon? Because, at least in my area, it sure feels like being hipster IS mainstream. [nothing to do with me, got sidetracked sorry. OH, I guess I get easily sidetracked. There you go]

4. I love just about everything Disney. My newest favorite Disney movie is Princess and the Frog, which a lot of people tell me they think is boring. This offends me for some reason, so now I just tell myself that they're racist and I'm a better person. It helps me sleep at night.

5. I wish I were left handed.

6. Anytime my seven month old baby smiles at someone and they don't smile back, I want to punch them in the face and yell, "DON'T YOU DARE DISILLUSION MY BABY! HE DESERVES TO THINK PEOPLE ARE GOOD AND NICE, AND YOU WILL SMILE BACK AT HIM BECAUSE HE IS ADORABLE, DANG IT."

7. I was going to say that #6 is one of the few times I feel like a "Mama Bear", but then I had to include that I hate the phrase "Mama Bear".

8. I rant a lot. That's probably pretty obvious. It's meant for humorous purposes, but sometimes I think people think I really just hate everything. When in fact I only hate about 85% of things.

9. I never know what to do with my arms when people take my picture.

10. Ever since I gained fifty pounds when I was pregnant, holding hands with McKay hasn't been the same. He used to have the warm hands, I had the cold, and I'd suck the heat out of him and all was well. Now we both have warm hands and they get all sweaty. Which makes me feel like we fail some unspoken relationship test.

11. I love plays.

Rachel's Eleven Questions For Me:

1. What is your favorite song and why?
I like songs that make me do my Happy Dance. I'd show you it, but then I'd have to kill you. Currently, that song is "You're a Cad" by The Bird and the Bee.
2. How did you choose your name for your blog?
T.B.A. is (sort of) my last three initials. I also liked thinking of myself as "to be announced". I'm a work in project, as is my blog.
 3. What's your favorite item in your makeup bag?
Mascara. Mascara mascara mascara. My eyelashes are half-blonde and look pathetic without it.
4. If you could travel anywhere where would you go and why?
After China, I'm done with exotic places for a while. I'd go to Florida. Why? Disney World, Harry Potter World, Blizzard Beach, Animal Kingdom, Epcot. So, yeah, I'll be needing a large wad of cash for that.
 5. Cake or ice cream?
Depends on the flavors of both. But if I had to play favorites, I'd say . . . lemon bars. OOH, no, nanimo bars! It's an awesome Canadian dessert, love it.
6. Who's your best friend and why?
Kellie, Cara, and Brooke are all best friends. I grew up with Kellie and Cara (I can't remember ever NOT knowing them), and Brooke got me through middle school, the hardest time of my life. They're all awesome.
7. What's your favorite childhood memory?
I have great memories of spending all summer in the pool. Less great memories of having green hair in the fall.
8. Dog or cats?
Cats. More low-maintenance.
 9. What's your "go-to" funny you tube video?
I actually don't go on youtube very often, but I love all the Kid History videos. Episode Four is my favorite.
10. What do you want to be when you grow up?
I remember a random guy walking me back to my apartment once asking me that. I was tired of doing the whole "I want to write a book and be an author" spiel, so I just said, "Me." I wasn't exactly sure what I meant then, nor am I sure now, but I think it's still true.
11. Why do you blog?
Because I love writing and making people laugh. That's really about it. I used to write in a journal (I have about a dozen volumes), but I realized I didn't write very well in them because it was just a record of things I did. When I write on my blog, I write a bit better because I know it's going to actually be read. By my mom, at least.

My Eleven Q's:
1. If you had one super power, what would it be?
2. What's your favorite book?
3. Do you own anything of sentimental value that you just can't seem to give up? If so, do tell.
4. If you were a fictional character, who would you be? It can be from a movie, TV show, video game, whatever.
5. If your house was on fire and you could only grab five things, what would they be? [you can assume family members and pets made it out safely]
6. What's the best present you've ever received?
7. What's the worst date you've ever been on?
8. When was a time when you were really, really embarrassed?
9. If you were in prison, going to be executed in the morning, what would your last meal consist of? Oh, and you're in a prison that does last meals.
10. If you had to date one of the Avengers, which one would you go for?
11.What was one of your favorite games as a kid?

I Choose You, Pikachu! [consider yourself "awarded"]
1. Nicole at Stott Family Narrative
2. Jill at Jill-Writes
3. Jessica at BLAWG
4. Kimberly at I'm Probably Crazy
5. Cara at Too Many Sunsets
6. Jes/James at The Bees' Knees
7. Joy/Andrew at The Beesley Family

Well, I made it more than halfway on the awarding. I'm going to call that good.
