Not a Real Post

  Hey guys.

Sorry for the lack of posting lately. I'm kind of in a blogging depression right now. You know how sometimes missionaries ask people if they ask themselves who they are, why they're here, where they're going, etc etc? It's kind of that, but it's more like, "Why am I blogging? Does anyone really give a crap? I've been doing this for three years, and still have next to no readers." Not that it should matter. About readers, that is. I mostly blog because I like to write, and I like to make people laugh.

But sadly, it does kind of matter. To me, anyway. Stupidly.

Anyway, that's why I'm slacking. Also, I feel like I need to do some vacation posts, and it takes so long to upload pictures, then edit them and blah blah blah.

BUT I haven't been off the writing bandwagon. I've actually written over FORTY PAGES of my book in the last week. I know, whaaaaa? Who is this motivated person, and what have they done with Julia? Strangely, the game Candy Crush is a great motivational tool. When I run out of lives, I write for the half hour it takes to get another life. When I crash and burn on that life, I write another half hour.

BRAGGING TIME: I wrote nine pages this morning during Lincoln's nap. Then we walked almost four miles to the landlord's office to pay rent (and it's friggin' hot here [humidity is the worst]). Then I went to buy an air conditioner and carried it in the house all by myself.

I'm pretty much Wonder Woman today.

What about you guys? What've you been up to the last three weeks?

  1. Way to go, Julia! You really do sound like Wonder Woman.

I think it's hard to stay in the blogging routine during the summer; it seems like lots of bloggers are taking breaks of some sort or another.

  2. Woot woot!! You are awesome. So this girl just started following my blog (no idea how she found me, maybe my little giveaway or something [but don't giveaways feel like cheating? I don't know about them]) ANYWAY, She just started her blog ONE MONTH AGO and she has. . . hold on, let me check. . . over 60 followers. What the? Pisses me off. I get you. It doesn't matter, but is DOES.

    1. I know, right?? Especially when you look at their blog and you're all, what the crap, I'm way more awesome than that. They can't form a sentence without an exclamation point at the end! Which, ironically, that last sentence had . . .

  4. Hey Julia!!!! Sorry for the delay as well, I still read your blog but not as much anymore :( Not because it's not interesting but because I recently deleted my facebook account, and haven't been spending as much time as I use to on the internet, plus someone wrote a nasty wallpost about me :(. In my opinion, Blogging is allot like having a facebook, it's both fun and exciting to stay up to date with what all your friends are doing; but at the same time it can bring you down. I remember getting so depressed when I would see my friends/co-workers tagged in photos or hear about their outtings and I would be like "WTHeck?!" "Why wasn't I invited?" Not to mention they would sometimes tell me "Oh I saw what you wrote and I showed my mom and she says...." Ya get the point, I ask myself "If you bother to read it why not comment on it?" I eventually just deleted it and decided to not get caught up in the drama of my co-workers who act as if our place of work is middle school all over again =/ On the lighter note I have recently decided to enlist into the national guard :) I scored very high on my ASVAB and hope to ship out soon, there's allot to do while enlisting. I graduated from the local community college with 2 associates and now just gotta leave my future in God's hands. What his plan is I'm not entirely sure yet but I do trust that he will work wonders :) Glad to know that you're still writing :) even if it is just fictional stories or blogging. I really do enjoy reading your posts, they make me; as well as many others say "Oh, how I can relate" They are funny and inspiring at some points. I really liked the blogs that you did as a survey, with questions like "What super power would you want" "Most physical pain you've ever endured" They really are interesting :) Keep blogging and writing!!! It is a talent and a gift which should not go un-noticed!!!

    1. Thanks, Kathryn! I'm sorry about your facebook experiences, I toy with the idea of deleting mine all the time. Thanks for your kind words, and good for you for signing up in the national guard! I bet you'll be awesome at it.
